Furniture Design School


Furniture design and manufacturing is a program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to prepare and execute furniture design projects; assemble and finish furniture articles or subassemblies; repair furniture; and use a variety of hand and power tools.1

This is an exciting field of study that integrates design, craft and fine arts. Students will embark on a course of study that encompasses skills, theory and context. Drawing from a rich tradition, furniture design bridges disciplines and historic movements. Its character continues to change and grow along with shifts in culture. Through research and practice, students will explore the wide spectrum of concept, physical need and aesthetic perspective that constitutes furniture design study.
